Why austere and prehospital ultrasound (APUS)?
In remote and prehospital environments, clinical decisions often need to be made with limited resources, limited time, and limited access to hospital diagnostics. Focused ultrasound can support assessment, triage, treatment decisions, and evacuation planning.
The Austere and prehospital ultrasound course (APUS) gives clinicians a practical foundation in using ultrasound where it may matter most: close to the patient, outside the traditional hospital setting, and in environments where every decision counts.
